HERImpact DC Social Enterprise Pitch Competition
Pitch for Prizes up to $50,000 in cash and in-kind services
Ford Motor Company Fund and 1863 Ventures (formerly Project 500) have initiated a new program in Washington, D.C. to help female social entrepreneurs grow their enterprises, increasing both impact and long-term sustainability.
HERImpact DC offers female entrepreneurs in the area, educational opportunities, technical assistance, mentoring, coaching, and financial resources to encourage creative thinkers with plans for small businesses or startups that will also make their communities better places to live.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Female social entrepreneurs who are running for profit enterprises with demonstrated community impact are invited to apply to the pitch competition. Up to 10 finalists will be selected no later than February 8, 2019 to pitch their businesses to a group of expert judges for prizes up $50,000, and in-kind services and support.
Social entrepreneurs need to build businesses that create impact and are financially sustainable.
To be eligible as a social venture enterprise, businesses must:
Be a for profit enterprise
Fundamentally exist to solve a real community problem
Demonstrate a sustainable business model
Focus on a product or service people will pay for
The competition will take place on March 16, 2019 at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
